The Free Gift of Grace
Grace is not natural to us. Grace prays blessings on our adversaries. Grace extends forgiveness to those who do us harm. Grace is not instinctive to us. Grace is a sign of patience and self-control. Grace is a good gesture given that is undeserved. Grace spills over from a thankful, soft heart. Grace cannot come from a hardened heart. Grace is laying down our lives for the sake of others. Grace cannot cohabit with bitterness and strife. Grace turns from gossip and refuses to slander. Grace increases when we humbly approach God's throne. Grace is God leading us away from temptation. Grace reminds us we too sin and need forgiveness. Grace is an outworking of the gospel. Grace at work in us sets us apart for God's use. Grace is a free gift from God to the least of us. But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. -Ephesians 4:7 For by grace you have been saved, through faith- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- not by works, so that no one can boast. -Ephesians 2:8-9
